Are You Joyful?

While at the post office gathering an incoming shipment of goodies, I came across a rarity these days.  There was a stranger who looked me straight in the eye and said, "Hello!"  I smiled, and returned a lovely, "Hi!" before I turned back to face forward in my line. Then, unlike today's normal, this stranger continued on, and they announced an observation, "You look joyful!  Are you joyful?"  Hand to my heart, I smiled again, " Awe! Thank you. I try to be!"     Well, this stranger did not accept that as an agreeable answer! They went on to ask, "Well why not?"  Slightly taken aback, I fishfaced for a moment as I considered a response. Good vs God

She awoke to her youngest child panicked, crying out, "I'm sick Mom! I'm sick!"  This was just one more unexpected to add to the list.  She silently prays in desperation at one more thing to add to her plate.  The already full schedule for the day unravels before her eyes.  One, then another, and another; they all drop like flies to whatever has ailed her children.  She began a large pot of chicken soup to soothe tummies and soon the smell of disinfectant mingled with the aroma of roasting chicken within the house.  After the lid has set down on another load of laundry, she breaks down in her moment of solitude to pray again.  This is just one more...

The Good Shepherd

A weekend of replenishment has come and gone.  Time spent in laughter with friends is truly some of the best medicine.  Have you ever just felt the awe inspiring, goosebump building, magnitude of God's presence?  It's different for everyone, and in a different place for everyone.  Do you know what? That's ok! We are each in our own individual walk and what one may feel or take from a lesson may be completely different from another.  This weekend, a PDE team member spent a glorious weekend on horseback, riding through God's creation.  Christ blanketed the entire weekend with providing the group of friends exactly what and who they needed in every situation.
